Philosophy

The Foundation of My Therapeutic Approach

My approach to therapy is built on the understanding that neurodivergent individuals experience the world in unique and valuable ways. I believe in neurodiversity-affirming care that celebrates differences rather than trying to "fix" or change them.

The core values that guide my practice include:

Client-Centered Approach: You are the expert of your life story. I respect and value the unique experiences you bring to therapy. My approach is entirely tailored to your needs, collaborating to create strategies that make sense to you.

Non-Judgmental, Empathic & Compassionate: You deserve to be heard, understood, and supported. I listen without judgment and work to deeply understand your individual experiences and goals.

Transparency: Before we begin, I offer a free virtual consultation where we can discuss your needs, preferences, and any concerns. This allows us to establish the best environment for your success—whether that includes addressing sensory sensitivities or adapting communication styles.

Empowerment Focus: My role is to equip you with tools and skills to navigate your own journey with increasing independence and confidence.

Flexible and Evolving Therapy: My approach is designed to adapt as your needs and goals evolve, ensuring therapy remains relevant to your current situation.

Collaborative Partnership: Therapy is a partnership where your voice is central in determining the direction and focus of our work together.

Safe, Supportive Space: Your comfort and safety are priorities, whether that means adjusting the pace, providing breaks, or ensuring you always feel respected.

The Therapeutic Process

What to Expect When Working Together

My therapy process is structured but flexible, always adapting to meet your individual needs:

Step 1: Listening & Discovery

We begin by understanding your experiences, challenges, and goals. This initial phase focuses on building rapport and gaining a comprehensive understanding of what brings you to therapy.

Step 2: Goal Setting & Building Skills

Together, we identify specific, meaningful goals and develop strategies to build skills in targeted areas. These goals serve as our roadmap, keeping our work focused and measurable.

Step 3: Empowerment & Action

My role is to equip you with practical tools to address challenges independently. We focus on applying skills outside of sessions to build confidence and real-world success.

Step 4: Ongoing Support & Reflection

As you progress, we regularly reflect on what's working, adjust strategies as needed, and celebrate your growth. This ensures therapy remains responsive to your evolving needs.
